4) Backgnd & Qualifications: some of the unique, new and orig. things that Jim invented/designed in his 65 yr career. See what he did between ages 9-12! Due to top-secret clearance regulations we can't discuss any of the original special Goverment projects he was envolved in.

- * Age 9: Bugged my house, Mothers Beauty Shop & Restroom of a service station being
- built next door. Ran wires to speaker in restroom vent, I could talk over it.
- * Age 10: designed & built a working elevator, went 12 ft to my tree house. None of
- my students or their friends (ever in 28 yrs) were able to figure out how I did it.
- * Age 11: Designed an electro-magnetic accellerator device that shot needles across
- a room and stuck them into the wall.

- * Age 12: I got 10 used Hearing Aids and converted them into code devices to play ARMY. . We didn't know until the Feds caught us that everytime we used them all TV's for blocks went crazy. TV was new and we were interfering with the signal! * Age 14-18: Won my Hi-School, 8-12th grade, Sci Fair 5 yrs in a row . Won Best Overall my last 3 years!
- * Age 16-18: All-State Band 3X. Qualified 1st Chair on both Trumpet & Clarirnet. Won Full College Scholarship.
- * Age 17: Won Sci Fair with "Detectoscope" a listening device, similar to those years later used at NFL games.
- * Age 18: joined USAF used 'GI bill' & TI's Summer Development Program to get Engineering degree at SMU.
- * Was top of my class in 53 week Air Force Electronics school. Got the best possible Base assignment, the 745th AC&W Squadron in Duncanville,TEXAS. I got married, went to SMU and that changed everything.
- * 1963 AirForce Honorable Discharge. Hired by Texas Instruments, worked on Shrike Missile guidence system, had a Top Secret Security Clearance for 12 yrs, worked on secret projects that I still can't talk about.
- * 1964 designed 'Musical Lights' a visual Stereo Demo. System that displayed how stereo worked. Had two sets of 30 light bars ea using colors to represent the 3 freq. bands in ea channel , ie: (Bass, MidRange, Treble). . This system has been used in Clubs all over the world and I still have the original prototype in my home.
- * 1963-67 Hired by Texas Instrumenta & became a non-degreed Engineer. TI put me in their 'Summer Develop-ment Prog.' which paid my SMU tuition plus a job each summer. When graduated, I was sent to TI Austin to work on the Bubble Memory System of a $25 million Air Traffic Control Super Computer. * For 28 yrs I taught "Engineering Skills", "Creative Problem Solving" & "How Things Work " classes, at Private Schools & Home School Co-OP's in Dallas, Richardson and Plano, Texas.
- * 1972 Tx Instr. Dallas, Ea day for 9 mo's I flew to Houston to help create the brain chip for the TI Calculator. I also wrote the operators manual explaining how to use it to do advanced mathmatical calculations. * Took 5 yrs to convert my Highland Park home into a two story with a large two story 3 car garage with a 10ft wide bridge from house to deck and a two story workshop. Shop had 2 sets of stairs and a 3rd floor loft.
- * My Orig. Product Designs: Color ink printing analizer for graphics arts industry, 'Musical Lights' Color display sys. used in night clubs, Orig. TI Calculator Brain, "Wide-angle 3D" w/o special 3D glasses required,
- * invented "Musical Drum Sticks" & built the 172 fastest gaming computer in US - it's 9.5"W x 9"H x 16.5" L - rated by Heaven Score Sys, it's liquid cooled, has i7 6700K overclocked intel chip, DUAL 500MB SSHD's, runs at 68 degree case temp, has a 10w Stereo System with inside case speakers ( I still use it).
- * Was Science-Fair Judge for many years and one year at 'Future City' competition held at UTA Arlington, Texas.
- * Created projects and kits specifically designed to teach creative engineering skills and to develop or hone abilities to apply my Essential elements of design and problem solving system I was working on.
- * I Built and drove a modified sports car to series championship. Won 'Most Popular car' award at the '91 Fort Worth Autorama first time showed, held hill climb record at Austin Travis Dam for 2 years. Only lost 3 races in 5 yrs, all due to a DNF. Car was a modified '58 Austin Healy Sprite (225HP) & 50/50 wt. distribution.
- * Was Assistant SM & Eagle Coordinator at Troop 35, Highland Park, 18 yrs. plus co-started BSA Troop 125 at Northwest Bible Church, Dallas, helped over 300 Scouts earn their EAGLE Scout Rank. Was on Circle 10 Health & Safety Com. & Boy Scouts highest level of Adult Training, 1991 WoodBadge 45, In Antelope Patrol. Earned the Paul Bunyon axemanship award by making a 1/2 mile hiking trail through the woods at Scout Camp. * Can't discuss any possible "Top Secret special" projects that I may (or maynot) have been involved in.
